Quarry redevelopment visibly progressing

Writer: Rob PorterRob Porter

The redevelopment of the "big end" of the old quarry on site into a space for community events like fairs and concerts has visibly jumped ahead in the last month. Compared to earlier progress where a lot of things we underground infrastructure and other less visible things, recent development has seen the final shaping of the amphitheatre and spreading of topsoil. The next step is sowing native weeping grass to create a comfortable but durable seating area. The three photos show the quarry about 18 months ago, at the start of September 2021, and then the start of October 2021.
