Visit to Common Ground Harvest Festival, Geelong

Our weekly market, established in 2018, has become a cornerstone of our operations:

• For our customers, it provides access to fresh, nutritious food.
• For our community it provides a social gathering place, with live music and other entertainment depending on the weather. This mental health aspect of community was particularly valued during the isolation times of the COVID period in 2020-21.
• For our market participants it provides a fertile ground for personal and professional growth. 

The market has been instrumental in nurturing microbusinesses, empowering community members with valuable skills in food production, and fostering a strong sense of purpose and connection.

Now we are looking at what's next for the market and seeking inspiration from other fantastic producers and market holders across the region - a study tour of sorts. We're going to carpool down and visit Common Ground Project for their 2024 Harvest Festival so we can speak to a whole range of growers, makers and organisations to see how we can improve the market and surrounding activities.
