About the event

In Australia, over 200,000 tonnes of clothing and textiles are dumped in landfill each year. Fast fashion’s environmental toll is huge, but there are basic skills you can learn to help tackle this.


Breathe new life into your well-loved clothes with a hands-on repair session in collaboration with the Warrnambool Repair Cafe. With a beverage of choice, we'll chat through how to approach different sewing situations, share stories and relax in a cozy setting.


Our instructor Kay will guide you through basic repair techniques, including patching, hemming, and sewing on buttons. Bring along one or two garments in need of some TLC - a tear, missing button, too big or small.


You’ll learn both hand and machine sewing techniques to make simple repairs and alterations to your clothes no matter your skill level. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some sewing experience, our instructor will tailor guidance to your…
