About the event

Join Anthea from Green Print Projects and local ecologist Jodie Honan for a fun, hands-on school holiday session exploring Warrnambool’s native grasses and the exciting pocket forest project at the Warrnambool Community Garden. The session will include a native grass hunt, creative crafting activities, and a chance for kids to imagine the wildlife that would live in the future pocket forest, including the yellow-tailed black cockatoo. The workshop is designed to help children discover how native grasses support soils, wildlife and biodiversity, and how they’ll play an important role in the regeneration of the pocket forest at the garden.

Cost: $10 with proceeds supporting garden activities

Location: Warrnambool Community Garden, corner of Grieve and Derby Street, Warrnambool

Bring: Weather-appropriate clothing and curiosity.

This session is part of the pocket forest project, and some of the grasses we identify will be transplated in part of the new tiny forest taking root…

We acknowledge the Peek Whurrong People of the Maar Nation as the original custodians of the land on which we meet and garden. Our garden adjoins a significant place, we continue to learn its history as we work together in a spirit of reconciliation.
