About the event

Join local ecologist and educator Jodie Honan for a hands-on exploration of the native grasses that shape Warrnambool’s natural landscapes, including the many species thriving in Albert Park.


Learn how to identify native grasses, understand their lifecycles, and discover how they can bring beauty, diversity, and habitat to your backyard. You’ll explore how grasslands support soils, wildlife and biodiversity and how this will play a key part of the pocket forest regeneration project. Attendees are welcome to bring photos of grasses they'd like to identify including grass flower, leaves, general plant and where it was growing.


Cost: $10 with proceeds supporting garden activities

Location: Warrnambool Community Garden, corner of Grieve and Derby Street, Warrnambool

Bring: Weather-appropriate clothing, curiosity, and a notepad
