About the event

Get growing in small spaces and make the most of every inch! We welcome back local ethnobotanical enthusiast and forager Chris Rockley for a practical, hands-on workshop designed to help you create a thriving edible garden, no matter how limited your space. You will take home a fully planted box to feed you over autumn - saving you time and money!

Explore how to:

  • Create a productive garden in a small space and maximise your growing potential.

  • Build and plant your own edible garden in a polybox, perfect for patios, balconies, or compact backyards.

  • Choose the right seasonal crops, with a focus on autumn vegetables like bok choy, lettuce, kale, spinach, silverbeet, beetroot, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, peas, snow peas, broad beans, leeks, spring onions, and garlic.

  • Select and grow versatile herbs such as coriander, parsley, thyme, oregano, chives, dill, and basil.

We acknowledge the Peek Whurrong People of the Maar Nation as the original custodians of the land on which we meet and garden. Our garden adjoins a significant place, we continue to learn its history as we work together in a spirit of reconciliation.
