About the event

In this hands-on session, learn some basic techniques for cleaning and repairing your tools. By taking care of your tools, they will last you longer and take some of the hard work out of gardening.

We'll cover sharpening and maintaining secateurs and loppers; sharpening the bottom edge of spades; straightening bent fork tines; securing loose handles; and oiling wooden handles to preserve them.

This workshop runs in line with the Warrnambool Repair Cafe at the community garden until 12pm, so if you have other items to mend, bring them along and the fixers can try to help.

Wear old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

If you have a suggestion for a future workshop, we would love to hear it, email grow@wcg3280.org.au and we'll see what we can do.

We acknowledge the Peek Whurrong People of the Maar Nation as the original custodians of the land on which we meet and garden. Our garden adjoins a significant place, we continue to learn its history as we work together in a spirit of reconciliation.
